History, heritage, nature and a warm Irish welcome meet in a spectacular setting at Blackwater Castle, a twelfth-century castle on the banks of the River Awbeg, which is surrounded by woodlands and a private river and is the perfect setting for a uniquely Irish experience.
- Stay at the castle -
All private rooms in the castle are currently booked, but for those who would like to stay on castle grounds, we are pleased to offer simple and zero-cost accommodation in four warm and sunny dorms. Each dorm room sleeps 8 to 12 people and has an attached shower and toilet. If you would like to reserve a dorm bed in the male or female dorm -- or if you have a group of 8+ that would like to share a room -- please contact Anna or Roderick directly.
Or for the very adventurous, there is a private camping area on the castle grounds, with hot showers. Bring your own tent, sleeping bag and air mattress. Guests have the modern comforts of toilets and showers along with a designated campfire.
- Stay in Town -
Alternatively, there are several bed & breakfasts within walking distance of the castle, and many more within a 5 to 15 minute drive. Click here to see a list of nearby lodging.
